Psalm 1 ~ The Righteous & The Ungodly

Do you ever just hear or read a passage of scripture & fall in love with it? Well that was me with Psalm 1 this week. Today I want to share a few things God showed me in this passage. Before we dig deep into this passage, let’s take a moment to pray that God would open our hearts & reveal the things he wants to reveal to us.

Psalm 1

1 BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Verse 1&2: BLESSED is the man who doesn’t do the things sinners do or spend time with mockers, but who’s delight is in God’s word & mediates in it day & night.
Verse 3: He will be like a tree planted by rivers of water (he will always be filled), that bringeth forth his fruit in his season, he will not wither or fade away but rather, whatever he does will prosper!
 Verse 4~6: The ungodly are unstable in their ways, they are constantly moving & not firm. The ungodly cannot be in the congregation of the righteous, they are completely different in their ways. The way of the ungodly will perish.
The ungodly will {PERISH}

The righteous will {PROSPER}
Will you be like the ungodly, driven away by the wind, or like the righteous, a tree planted by rivers of waters?
