Quick & Powerful

imageWhen God gave us His word, he not only gave it as something to lead & guide us, but also as a weapon. When people & things come against us, His word was meant to help us fight.

Hebrews 4:12
” For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ”

I know personally in my life, I can’t do it alone. Daily I am faced with challenges that challenge my faith & love for Christ. Thankfully, God knew this. He knew I couldn’t do it alone. He knew the struggles I would face. I’m thankful to have a weapon to use against the things of this world. We’re constantly in battles in our lives. & I’ve learned the only way to defeat the enemy is through prayer, fasting, faith & God’s word.

So my challenge to you today is to take God’s word. Hide it in your heart. Use it daily. It can be your defense and protection against the tactics of the devil. Every word of God is pure. (Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.)

Ephesians 6:11-13

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Our battle is not only against struggles and trials in our lives. It’s against the darkness of this world. It’s against selfishness, anger, hate, malice, envy and strife. It’s against things unseen, the powers that try to pull us away from Christ. That is what we must also fight against. & His word can be our perfect defense.

1 Corinthians 16:13
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith.

Matthew 26:41
Watch & pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

2 Chronicles 32:8
” With us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. ”

Our flesh will fail us, every single day….but Jesus & His word will not. That’s why it must be our strong rock and foundation on which we build our life.
