Love a Little More Like Christ

Today I will be sharing a guest post by my beautiful and sweet friend, Des!! She has such a beautiful heart for God and I’m so excited to share this post with you!
We can often easily forget to love like Christ loves. We choose the ones we want to love and the ones we don’t want to love. On certain days we love some people more than others maybe because of something sweet they have done for us or said to us.

If we’re angry with someone we seem to forget how much we love them and grow bitter towards them. We need to show love and be patient with them instead.

<< Ephesians 4:2 >>
2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

We should love everyone. That doesn’t just mean our family & friends. Loving others isn’t about what they have done for you or how they have showed you love back. It means loving them even if you don’t get it in return. Because showing genuine love isn’t about what you get back. Its about what you give. It’s about how you make others feel. The way you show love not only with words but with actions.

1 John 3:16-18
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
Love the unlovable. The ones you wouldn’t normally show love to. Even if you don’t get it in return.

<< Luke 6:35 >>
35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

No matter what the case, God says for us to {SHOW} love & to {BE} love.

<< 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 >>
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails

If God loved us so much that He sent His one & only Son to die for us… Can’t we show love to our neighbor?

<< Mark 12:31 >>
31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.

The least we can do is to love those around us. It’s not that hard. We make it seem hard, but it doesn’t have to be. Just remember how much God loves YOU. Make Him proud. Let His great love shine through you. To anyone & everyone. It might just mean more to someone than you know.
