Having a Humble Heart

Proverbs 22: 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

Pride is something we as humans struggle with. It’s in our nature. We must turn away from a prideful heart. When we perform acts with a prideful heart, we are doing it into ourselves, not God. Every UNSELFISH act of love whispers GODS name. When Jesus came to earth everything he did was of love for His father, not himself. We must strive to do everything in love for Jesus, not for our own glory. The bible continually warns us of the dangers being prideful:

Proverbs 11;2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A PROUD LOOK, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Proverbs 17:20 He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.

Proverbs 21:4 An high look, and a proud heart, and theplowing of the wicked, is sin.

Proverbs 27:1 BOAST not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Proverbs 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in theLORD shall be made fat.

Proverbs 29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

We must strive daily to be humble in every action. Every thing we do must be unto God’s glory, not our own. This plays a big role into becoming who God has called us to be.
