Worries + God = Peace

Today I will be sharing a guest post by my beautiful and sweet friend, Des!! She has such a beautiful heart for God and I’m so excited to share this post with you!
{ Philippians 4:6-7 }

” Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.”

This verse always makes me feel better at any moment in my life. It’s a reassurance that no matter what’s going on we should never worry because God is always there to hear us when we call out to Him. About absolutely anything & everything. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty thankful to have a God that cares so much about me that He bends down to listen and in my case, gives me instantaneous peace as I talk to Him. Only He can do this for us.

Everyone worries. It’s something we can’t easily control. But as this verse states, instead of worrying we should go to Him. Run to Him with prayer while giving thanks. This doesn’t just mean to ask God to help you with your worries or to give you what you may need. But to thank him for all He has done so far and trust Him that He will take care of any situation that you’re going through. God is always there to listen to our worries, but we have to remember to thank Him for doing so.

No matter the situation; worrying about a big test coming up, stressing about little things in life, worrying about your health or your family’s health, wondering if you’ll ever do all the things you set out to do or maybe you’re just thinking about your future and it’s worrying you to the point that’s all you think about. That is the moment in which you should go to Him and give him your worries and with thanksgiving. Trust me, it’s so much easier to give God your worries than to fight them on your own. Maybe what you’re worrying about won’t automatically be fixed right away but, He will guard your thoughts. He will give you peace. He will be there to listen no matter how long you talk to Him. There’s no doubt about that.
