Becoming Courageous

Today I will be sharing a guest post by my beautiful and sweet friend, Des!! She has such a beautiful heart for God and I’m so excited to share this post with you!

Being a Christian girl can already be tough on its own. But when it comes to being courageous, that may just seem impossible.
Coming from a girl who has loved Jesus since she can remember, I can tell you it’s even hard for me sometimes. I’m pretty sure every Christian struggles with being courageous. But we can’t let being afraid of what people are going to think or say stop us from having courage to show the world who God is and what He has done in our lives. We’re on this earth for a reason… To spread Gods love and to tell anyone & everyone what He has done. Think about how you first learned about Christ. Was it from your pastor, family member, teacher or maybe your friend? If that one person wouldn’t have had courage to talk to you about our Savior you probably wouldn’t love Him like you do today. So think of how many people you can help if you just have courage!
Being courageous doesn’t just mean that you should tell others about our sweet Lord though.
When God calls us to be courageous He wants us to be brave no matter what. To find our safety in Him. Never to worry or be terrified about the things to come. To show love to everyone. To be His precious light in this dark world.

These two verses pretty much sums up what God says about being courageous:

Joshua 1:9
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14
13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.

Becoming courageous is most definitely a challenge. But we as Christian girls have to stand firm in our Lord and take on bravery. Because with Him there is nothing that can hold us back from having courage. He is there to fight with us. He is there to help us take on this world fully and fearlessly.
So let’s show everyone who we are in Christ without fear.

We were made to be courageous
We were made to lead the way
We could be the generation
That finally breaks the chains
We were made to be courageous
We were made to be courageous
